Obedience

Sometimes it's hard to relinquish control. We want what we want when we want it. Or sometimes we are just tired and we want to do something that makes us happy or do something in our time not God's. But there is an overwhelming peace and joy that comes from being obedient to God. We need to step out in faith and obey what God says. The more time you spend in the Word and prayer the closer you will be to God. The closer you are to God (just like with anyone you are close to) you will trust Him more. You won't want to do things that make Him sad or disappointed or offended. You will want to obey. It won't be a chore any more to obey; it will be an honor. Something you hunger to do daily. So don't let the word obedience or submit have a negative connotation for you anymore. Feel blessed that you can serve the most high because the veil has been torn and that you have the opportunity to put a smile on His face. God is awesome!

Love & Mercy

Sometimes we are the only Bibles that some people come into contact with. Remember this at all times and show Christ's message of love and mercy to the lost around us. Let's let the love and mercy that God has granted us flow through us and spill onto those around us that God may be glorified.

Today is the National Day of Prayer

Let us join together in prayer to our holy God. Let us obediantly lift up our government and leaders in prayer. May we also pray for the unsaved and lost in this world that they may come to know God and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Here are some scriptures to encourage us to fellowship with God in prayer today and everyday...
Matthew 18:20
For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
Philippians 4:6-7
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
2 Thessalonians 3:1
Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you,
James 5:16
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

National Day of Prayer

Tomorrow is the National Day of Prayer whether our government decides to honor it or not. As Christians we need to faithfully get on our knees in prayer to our Lord. We need to turn to God and prayerfully lift up our nation and especially government. Let us gather together in prayer as God has called us to do.

Matthew 18:20
For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

Prayer: Helpful tips for your prayer life (the P.R.A.Y. method)

Pray:
here is a way to remember what to include in prayer to make it more effective...

Praise
Reconcile & Repent
Ask
Yield

Praise=Tell God how wonderful He is and thank Him for all that He has done for you

*when you thank God it helps you to focus and realize everything He has done for you*

Reconcile=Confess your sins

*confessing your sins humbles you*

Repent=Turn away from your sins

Ask=Ask for the things you need from God and leave your worries at His feet

Yield=Tell God that you sacrifice your will and ask God to do His will in your life

Meditate on the Word:

Find verses on topics that address issues you are going through.

Memorize them and pray them back to God.

Here is an example of how you can pray a verse back to God...

Verse = James 1:2-4
2My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

Here's one way you could pray it back to God...

Dear Lord,
Help me to count it all joy when I am dealing with various trials. Your Word promises that the testing of my faith will produce patience. Give me your strength to let patience have it's perfect work. Lord please make me perfect and complete so that I may stand before you lacking nothing. In Jesus name I pray Amen
